The conceptual plan for the property is to create a new community while preserving the history of the land. From the first Native American inhabitants in the 1860sto the immigrants of the 1880s, the land became the birth place of “market gardening.” A 1916 report on the agricultural development in Northern Colorado called this area a “Gardeners Paradise.” Records show that the gardens once yielded upwards of 12,500 tomato plants, 20,000 cabbages, as well as several other crops of onions, beets, beans, celery, asparagus roots, pumpkins and rhubarb.

We have rehabilitated the gardens and surrounding forest area on the property and homeowners enjoy community gardens along with fruit orchards filled with apples, cherries, and much more.

Whether one seeks a place where they can quietly read a book and listen to the flowing water as it moves through the river, or a couple decides to have a picnic and watch the sun set, the plan is to make all of this possible by designing community gathering areas. Furthermore, for those adventure-loving individuals, the location of the property is priceless. Nestled along the Cache la Poudre River, miles of public trails encourage running, biking, and rollerblading. For the angler in the family, this stretch of the river yields the best fly-fishing in Fort Collins. It will be a setting where families can renew their contact with nature while enriching the minds of their children. Boredom or restlessness will not present itself while the children in the community enjoy safe explorations of what the property has to offer.
